Miza Goes to Hospital

Yesterday Miza went for a minor earwax extraction. The wax seemed to have hardened in both sides of her ears. The doctor tried extracting it when we were at the clinic but that caused her a lot of pain. So we opted for sedation. It went well inspite our concern for her asthmatic allergy.
She had to miss 3 days of school but is now resting quietly at home. She has been reminded to keep her ears dry everytime she showers or comes out of the swimming pool. But this quite a common problem to some people.

Going to School

Today will be Qamra's first day at her Tadika school. She was all excited this morning when she asked me for the time. It was then 8:30 and she was quite concerned as she told me that she has school at 9. This was as soon as she got out of bed to find the mother missing, who was apparently sending Miza to her school.

Yes, it is the day when I was reminded of this fact first thing this morning too!

Day2 At the Fisherman's Hut

To get to the Fisherman's Hut, we had to cross over a river through this precarious titi. The tattoo that looked real and mean.

Day 1 Tour of Terengganu

The journey started with 3 of us, Zaba, Razak and myself or else now known as The Dahon-Brooks team, making our way to Hentian Putra courtesy of Khairul's driver and Unser.

The so called Dahon - Brooks team is on account of us doing this journey on our Dahon Bikes. Zaba and Razak have similar setup with their Cadenza series which is a 26" wheeler while I am on the 20" Roo. All 3 bikes are fitted with the classic but comfortable Brooks saddle.

The bus journey took us 5 hrs to get to Dungun. Another half an hour to reassamle our bikes underneath a nearby gerai before we were off looking for our accomodatin.

It was already dusk and we rode for a couple of kilometres along the coast to the hotel which was on the sea front. We are in twin sharing for RM50, which is pretty cool. With hot water, a/c, tv....you can't complain much.

After a quick unload, we got on our bikes again in search for dinner. We found a well patronized restaurant along the coast just a few minutes ride away. As esxpected, with some fresh fish and other stuff, dinner was deemed good.

We got texted by Fendi informing us that the night bus that he , Jalil and ARZ are taking will be delayed by an hr. We won't be expecting them to arrive any sooner than 4am. We hope they get enough rest while we, who are already here, are at this moment preparing for bed

Tomorrow will be the start of the actual road ride to KT and Batu Rakit, our destination. It will be in excess of 120 km. We'll be updating more as and when or by my reckoning, just sending photos as we move.

Attached are some shots for the day.

At The Holiday Inn, Malacca Pier

Dinner at 11pm after much circling around town. This was the recently opened Holiday Inn by the seafront in Malacca. It overlooks a 'Brighton' styled pier with a hive of bar and karaoke outlets. Quite a lively spot.
